Dr. Md. Lalchand Sk is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Islamic Studies at Aliah University. He joined this prestigious institution in 2026. He earned his Ph.D. in Islamic Studies from Jamia Millia Islamia with a dissertation entitled “Muttahidah Bengal ke Musalmanon mein Jadeed Taleem ka Farogh: Nawab Abdul Latif ke Hawale se” (Development of Modern Education among the Muslims of United Bengal with Special Reference to Nawab Abdul Latif). His academic specialization lies in the history of Bengal, the development of modern education among Bengali Muslims, and the evolution of Muslim identity in Bengal. His research interests encompass Muslim educational reform movements, socio-cultural transformation in colonial Bengal, and the intellectual contributions of prominent Muslim reformers.
