A Ramakrishna Mission alumnus, Dr. Tajuddin Ahmed is an Associate Professor of English at Aliah University, Kolkata. He has published academic papers on a wide variety of topics including Bengali periodicals, Latin American fiction, Dalit poetry, World of Blog and Partition literature. Area of his research is early writings of Indian Muslim women. Author and editor of several books, including Travel Writing, Writing Travel: An Anthology of Critical Essays, Literature and Religion: An Interface between Imagination and Belief and In Time of Breaking the Boundaries: Swami Vivekananda in the 21st Century Global Village, he contributes regularly to the post-editorial column of Anandabazar Patrika, a leading Bengali daily. Dr. Ahmed is also a writer of short stories and essays in vernacular which have been published in magazines and newspapers like Desh, Baromas, Ei Samai and Anadabazar Patrika. His works of translation include chapters from the autobiography of Amartya Sen, Dalit short stories and stories of partition.
