Dr. Safiul Islam (M.A., B.Ed., PGDL, Ph.D), an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University, is an Assistant Professor of English at Aliah University, Kolkata. He has been in the teaching profession since 2012. Earlier he has served as an Assistant Professor of Language in IMS Engineering College, Ghaziabad, UP for about 3 years. He has also served as an Assistant Professor of English at Muralidhar Girls’ College for 1 year. His Doctoral Thesis is on the fictional and non-fictional works of Arundhati Roy. He has published research articles in a number of international journals. His areas of interest include Indian English Literature, Australian Literature, Modern Linguistics and English Language Teaching.
