Dr. Moumita Basu is an Assistant Professor of Economics at Aliah University, where she joined on 25 March 2026. Prior to this, she served as a faculty member at Krishnagar Government College from 12 March 2019 to 24 March 2026, and earlier at Bidhannagar College from 19 February 2009 to 11 March 2019.

Dr. Basu completed her undergraduate studies at Lady Brabourne College. She pursued her postgraduate degree in Economics from University of Calcutta, studying through Presidency College. She later earned her M.Phil. from Jadavpur University and completed her Ph.D. at the University of Calcutta with a thesis titled “Economic Reforms and Macroeconomic Adjustment in Developing Countries.”

Her academic work includes several publications in national and international journals. She has also actively participated in numerous national and international conferences, contributing to scholarly discussions in the field of economics.
