Dr. Sheikh is an Associate Professor in the Department of Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Aliah University. He received his PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, India and M. Tech from Jadavpur University of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. He is a life time member of Institution of Engineers (India).

Dr. Sheikh's current research interests are in the areas of Signal and Image Processing, Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Medical Image Processing, Object extraction and Change Detection from Remote Sensing data.
