Prof. Sheikh is Assistant Professor in Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE), Aliah University. He received his B. Tech from University of Kalyani and M. Tech from Jadavpur University of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering and received the PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, India. He is a member of Institution of Engineers (IEI).

Prof Sheikh's current research interests are in the areas of Signal processing, Image Processing and Computer Vision, Machine Learning and Deep Learning, Object extraction and change detection from Remote Sensing data and laser scanning (LiDAR) data. Robotics and Real-time application modeling with TI DSP’s is another area he is working on.
