Dr. Muddasarul Hoda is currently working as assistant professor in the Department of Biological Sciences, Aliah University, India. He completed his MSc degree in 2011 from Aligarh Muslim University, India. He further completed his PhD in 2016 under the guidance of Dr. Rukkumani Rajagopalan     in Department of Biochemistry & Molecular Biology, Pondicherry University, India. He has worked extensively on synthesis and characterization of biodegradable nanoparticles and their drug-delivering potential. His PhD thesis is entitled “Anti-proliferative and anti-metastatic studies of Disulfiram and Disulfiram-loaded Poly-(Lactic-co-glycolic acid) Nanoparticles on Hepatocellular carcinoma”. Subsequently, he joined Indian Institute of Technology Madras as an Institute Postdoctoral Fellow (September 2016) under the supervision of Prof. Mukesh Doble. His research focus at Prof. Mukesh Doble’s lab was “Synergistic studies of phytochemical-synthetic hypoglycaemic drug combinations on glucose uptake: Its implications in type 2 diabetes”.

 

His current research interest is focused on identification and modulation of various biomaterials and their biomedical applications. He is also enthusiastically pursuing a parallel research in ethnopharmacology with focus on endemic plant extracts and their mechanism of action in reversing various cancers and diabetic complications. He intends to extend his research domain to infectious diseases like dengue and encephalitis that are major health concerns in India.
